Civil Engineering Faculty University of Zagreb and the Croatian Fire Safety Association – HUZOP are organizing the international conference named EU Fire Safety Day – Fire Safety in Hospitals. It will be an online event on May 31, 2021 (Monday) from 14:00 till 16:00 hours.
The date is not accidentally selected; a major fire engulfed Zagreb on May 31 in 1731 and showed that fire protection was and still is an important element of civil protection.
We are witnessing that fire safety is constantly changing due to constant innovations in the construction industry; new materials in buildings and new technologies are a great challenge for the safety in buildings.
For this reason, this conference will be an opportunity for pan-European networking, sharing of best practices and knowledge, as well as raising awareness about improving fire protection, especially in high risk public buildings, such as hospitals, many of them in cultural heritage buildings.
